DHH Teacher | Waverly, Nebraska

This contract role offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction to an early childhood caseload (birth–5 years) in a vibrant educational environment. Key Qualifications:
- Credentialed and experienced as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Background in early childhood education, ideally with birth–5 age group
- Deep knowledge of best practices in language acquisition and communication strategies for children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency with various communication modalities (ASL, spoken language, total communication, etc.)
- Strong collaboration skills for working alongside families, staff, and specialists
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to empowering diverse learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and tailor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for a caseload of young children
- Implement engaging, research-based instructional strategies that promote language and developmental skills
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom climate
- Communicate consistently with families about goals, progress, and resources
- Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support services
