Job Title: In-Home Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist

Description: Soliant Education is seeking a compassionate and qualified In-Home Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist to join our team. This position offers an opportunity to work directly with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing in the comfort of their own homes. The ideal candidate will be certified as a DHH specialist and have experience working with individuals with speech and language impairments (SLI) and special education needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and intervention services to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing in their homes.
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and special education professionals to develop and implement individualized intervention plans.
- Facilitate communication and language development through auditory training, sign language instruction, and other specialized techniques.
- Support families in understanding and implementing strategies to enhance communication and accessibility for their loved ones.
- Document progress, collect data, and communicate regularly with families and other team members.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist.
- Experience working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a home-based or community setting.
- Knowledge of speech and language impairments (SLI) and special education principles.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
