Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Blazer Jobs is actively seeking experienced Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time role within school districts in the Cusseta, Georgia area for the 2024-2025 school year.
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the state of Georgia.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Compliance with all local and state licensure requirements.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities.
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, language development, and communication skills to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Utilize specialized materials, technology, and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive educational experience.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instructional strategies based on ongoing assessment results.
- Advocate for students' needs and facilitate communication between home and school.
