About the Position:
We are seeking a part-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of students. This position is approximately 22-25 hours per week, offering a flexible schedule for the right candidate.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with students, families, and educational teams to create individualized learning plans specifically designed for students with visual impairments.
- Provide direct instruction, assessments, and guidance to enhance students' academic and social development.
- Utilize adaptive tools and technologies to create accessible and engaging learning experiences.
- Monitor student progress, adjust strategies as needed, and ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Missouri state licensure or certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Prior experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired is strongly preferred.
- Strong foundation in Braille literacy and knowledge of braille codes and formats.
- Proficiency in utilizing assistive technology for visually impaired students.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students with special needs.
