Description:
Our school district in Texas is seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team immediately and finish out the remainder of the school year. As a TVI, you will work with students who have visual impairments, providing specialized instruction and support to help them succeed academically and socially.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive educational experience for students.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or related field.
- Texas state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Experience working with students with visual impairments preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
