A school district in Joliet, IL is seeking a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position involves providing support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through cooperative programming across multiple districts. The ideal candidate will have experience working with early childhood through 8th grade students in an itinerant role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver itinerant services to Deaf / Hard of Hearing students in various school districts
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to support student needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide direct instruction and resource support to students in grades early childhood through 8th grade
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and adjust programming as needed

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with Deaf / Hard of Hearing students in educational settings
  • Ability to manage an itinerant caseload across multiple districts
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of cooperative programming models

Location: Joliet, Illinois
