Teacher of the Deaf | Brooksville, Florida
This opportunity is for a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) providing specialized instruction and support to K-12 students. Located in Brooksville, FL, this itinerant position offers district-wide coverage and requires a Florida Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing certification. The role serves students across multiple schools, focusing on developing individualized education plans and enhancing communication skills through tailored strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to accommodate student needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assist with classroom modifications and communication access
- Provide consultative services district-wide as an itinerant teacher
- Maintain accurate records and assessment data to track student progress
- Participate in professional development and team meetings
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida certification as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Experience in supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to travel within the district to provide itinerant services
