Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ hearing levels and communication preferences.
  • Facilitate the development of listening, speech, language, and overall communication skills.
  • Adapt curricular materials using visual aids, captions, and other accessibility tools.
  • Monitor and document student progress toward Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
  • Provide direct support and consultative services as specified in IEPs.
  • Assist in the use and upkeep of hearing assistive technologies such as hearing aids and FM/DM systems.

Available Positions:

  • Position 1: Full-time itinerant role serving K-12 students in Freeport, Illinois.
  • Position 2: Full-time itinerant role serving K-12 students in Ogle County, Illinois.
  • Position 3: Itinerant role based in Hampshire, Illinois.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or related fields.
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in itinerant roles.
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability to various educational environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
