Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ hearing levels and communication preferences.
- Facilitate the development of listening, speech, language, and overall communication skills.
- Adapt curricular materials using visual aids, captions, and other accessibility tools.
- Monitor and document student progress toward Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Provide direct support and consultative services as specified in IEPs.
- Assist in the use and upkeep of hearing assistive technologies such as hearing aids and FM/DM systems.
Available Positions:
- Position 1: Full-time itinerant role serving K-12 students in Freeport, Illinois.
- Position 2: Full-time itinerant role serving K-12 students in Ogle County, Illinois.
- Position 3: Itinerant role based in Hampshire, Illinois.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or related fields.
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in itinerant roles.
- Strong communication skills and adaptability to various educational environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
