Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instruction tailored to each student’s hearing level and communication preferences
- Foster the development of listening, speech, language, and communication skills in a supportive educational environment
- Adapt curricular content using accessibility strategies, such as visual supports and captioning
- Continuously monitor, record, and report student progress in relation to IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals
- Provide direct and consultative services in coordination with multidisciplinary teams, per IEP requirements
- Support effective use, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hearing assistive technologies (e.g., hearing aids, FM/DM systems)
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credentials appropriate for Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialization
- Proven experience delivering services in itinerant, K-12 educational settings
- Strong knowledge of differentiated learning strategies and accommodations related to hearing loss
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other signed communication methods preferred
