Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized instruction tailored to each student’s hearing level and communication preferences
  • Foster the development of listening, speech, language, and communication skills in a supportive educational environment
  • Adapt curricular content using accessibility strategies, such as visual supports and captioning
  • Continuously monitor, record, and report student progress in relation to IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals
  • Provide direct and consultative services in coordination with multidisciplinary teams, per IEP requirements
  • Support effective use, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hearing assistive technologies (e.g., hearing aids, FM/DM systems)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching credentials appropriate for Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialization
  • Proven experience delivering services in itinerant, K-12 educational settings
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated learning strategies and accommodations related to hearing loss
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other signed communication methods preferred
