Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or a related field
- Previous experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and instructional strategies tailored for D/HH learners
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly desired
- Ability to conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective, engaging instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in small group or one-on-one settings
- Partner with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and integrate specialized supports
- Help evaluate students’ needs and maintain comprehensive documentation of progress and accommodations
- Provide guidance and training to school staff on best practices and use of adaptive equipment
- Support families and collaborate with related service providers to promote student success both in and out of the classroom
- Foster a welcoming, empowering environment where all voices are respected and heard
