Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Charlotte, NC

Qualifications and Experience:
- Active NCDPI Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Professional Educator’s License required
- Experience working with school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong understanding of assistive technologies and accommodations for DHH students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with families, educators, and related service professionals
- Proven ability to assess student needs, monitor progress, and adapt instructional methods accordingly
- Commitment to maintaining a supportive, inclusive educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with hearing loss, adapting materials and techniques as needed
- Consult with classroom teachers to develop and implement effective accommodations and modifications
- Work closely with parents or guardians, fostering ongoing communication and partnerships
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to track student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the creation of appropriate educational plans
- Provide training and guidance regarding hearing technologies and classroom integration
