Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
- Strong understanding of a variety of communication modalities (ASL, oral, total communication, etc.)
- Ability to adapt instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of deaf and hard of hearing students
- Willingness to travel between multiple schools as required
- Effective collaboration skills with general educators, families, and other support personnel
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive direct and consultative services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various school sites
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Work closely with educational teams to ensure appropriate accommodations and support
- Offer training and resources for staff and families regarding deaf education and communication strategies
- Advocate for students to maximize their access to curriculum and participation in school life
