Teacher of the Deaf | Chandler, Arizona

In this itinerant role, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of approximately 20 hours per week, with a shared caseload distributed based on student location and scheduling needs. Your expertise in communication strategies, curricular adaptation, and specialized instructional techniques will be vital to helping every learner reach their full potential.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or equivalent credentials
- Experience writing and implementing IEPs for D/HH students
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators, administrators, and families
- Understanding of current best practices and assistive technologies for deaf/hard of hearing students
- Previous experience in schools or educational programs preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students per their IEP requirements
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff regarding strategies and accommodations
- Develop and manage lesson plans, IEPs, and progress reports
- Travel between sites as needed to meet with students throughout the week
- Foster a supportive, accessible learning environment for all students on your caseload
