Qualifications and Experience:
- Current teaching certification with a specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities used in deaf education
- Excellent ability to adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to suit individual learning styles
- Capacity to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in accordance with educational standards
- Provide direct instruction and support to students, focusing on developing communication, academic, and social skills
- Use evidence-based strategies and technology to facilitate accessible learning
- Consult regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure students’ needs are being met
- Monitor progress and adjust instructional techniques as necessary
