What you bring:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement
- Proven experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Strong ability to individualize instruction and advocate for accessible learning opportunities
- Excellent collaboration skills with both general education staff and families
- Flexibility and organization to manage an itinerant schedule across several campuses
- Committed, compassionate approach to empowering students
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practices in DHH education
Your impact and responsibilities:
- Serve a varied caseload as you split your schedule between a middle school and two elementary schools
- Assess student skills, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver direct instruction and consultation services to meet students’ unique communication needs
- Foster accessible and inclusive classroom environments in collaboration with staff
- Provide resources, strategies, and support to classroom teachers and families
- Stay current on trends and innovations in DHH education
