The current district-wide caseload has expanded, creating the need for an additional Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing. You'll work closely alongside the district’s full-time TOD, sharing insight, best practices, and strategies for student success.
What We're Looking For:
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) certificate
- Experience teaching or supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong understanding of individual education plans (IEPs) and accessible teaching strategies
- Comfortable collaborating with general educators, specialists, and families
- Flexible approach—caseload and specific student assignments will be shaped in partnership with you
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a variety of grade levels, depending on your preference
- Collaborate within a district-wide teaching team to optimize student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student plans
- Maintain records, monitor progress, and advocate for students’ communication access needs
