Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, fostering academic growth and communication skills.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Utilize specialized teaching techniques, technology, and resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Engage with families and caregivers to promote consistent support and advocacy.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a K-12 educational setting.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods relevant to deaf education.
- Ability to design and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Certification or licensure appropriate for teaching students with hearing impairments is preferred.
