Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Grants Pass, OR

Key Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with children and adolescents with hearing differences
- Strong understanding of communication methods, including ASL, auditory-oral, and total communication approaches
- Ability to develop, adapt, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with hearing loss in various educational settings
- Conduct assessments and interpret results to guide personalized instruction and support
- Advocate for accessible learning environments and adaptations as needed
- Partner with educators and families to deliver culturally and linguistically responsive strategies
- Assist in training school personnel and peers to promote inclusion and understanding
- Monitor student progress, documenting and reporting outcomes in alignment with educational goals
