Operating Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM CST, you’ll focus on providing tailored, one-on-one instruction, making a significant difference in a student’s daily life.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience or specialized training in working with high school-aged students with hearing differences
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with various communication modalities
- Strong advocacy, collaboration, and communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to differentiated instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to cultivate an inclusive, engaging learning atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans aligned to student goals
- Deliver engaging academic instruction utilizing visual and auditory strategies
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and assessments
- Serve as a liaison and advocate for students’ needs within the school environment
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular feedback to families
- Support social, emotional, and academic growth through evidence-based practices
