Qualifications:
- Valid TN Deaf Education Endorsement required
- Demonstrated expertise teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Experience implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting curriculum
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible classroom environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and support for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to promote student progress
- Develop and monitor goals, accommodations, and modifications as outlined in IEPs
- Utilize a variety of communication techniques, including American Sign Language (ASL) as needed
- Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on student development
- Serve as a resource to the school community on matters related to deafness and hearing loss
