What you’ll bring:
- State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience supporting deaf or hard of hearing students at the high school level, preferably in an educational environment
- Ability to adapt curriculum and communication styles to meet individual student needs
- Strong commitment to fostering inclusion and building positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for your student
- Collaborating with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure equitable access and participation in the classroom
- Utilizing specialized instructional techniques, including American Sign Language (ASL) where appropriate
- Providing academic, social, and emotional support to facilitate student growth and independence
- Maintaining timely documentation and consistent communication with families and staff
