Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience working with high school students is preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to implement them effectively
- Exceptional communication skills, including proficiency with American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication modalities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver tailored instructional strategies in alignment with the student’s IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjustments as necessary
- Advocate for the unique needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within the school community
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with school and district requirements
- Contribute to a positive, nurturing classroom culture
