- Caseload: 1 high school student
- Work Setting: On-site, in-person only
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience serving students with hearing impairments preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or similar communication mode required
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to individual student needs
- Collaborative spirit to partner with school staff, families, and specialists
Role Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver specially tailored lessons to meet the unique academic and communication needs of your student
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives
- Track progress through regular assessments, modifying instruction as needed
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Liaise with general education staff to support full participation and integration
- Provide guidance, advocacy, and resources to the student and family as necessary
