DHH Teacher | Camden, South Carolina

Key Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or eligibility to obtain
- Experience or training in providing instructional support to DHH students in school settings
- Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities is highly desirable
- Strong collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators
- Flexibility to adapt lesson plans and strategies to meet individualized student needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support tailored to DHH students, ensuring access to curriculum and facilitating academic progress
- Create and modify lesson plans adapted to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor and document progress toward educational goals
- Provide guidance to classroom teachers regarding best practices for integrating DHH students
- Collaborate with audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists as needed
- Engage families by communicating student achievements and strategies for success
