Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Castle Rock, CO
An educational opportunity is available for experienced educators specializing in teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a K-12 setting. This position supports a diverse student population, offering both full-time and part-time options on a contract basis for the current school year, starting ASAP and continuing through the end of the school year.
Location: Castle Rock, CO
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, addressing individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Utilize adaptive teaching strategies and assistive technologies to facilitate effective communication and academic progress.
- Monitor student performance and provide ongoing assessments to guide instruction.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and community outreach as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license issued by the state of Colorado.
- Active teaching certification from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).
- Demonstrated experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is preferred.
