This full-time position is for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing serving students in grades K-12 within a school district in the Nashville suburban area. The role involves providing specialized instructional support to students with hearing impairments, tailoring services to individual needs, and collaborating with educators and families to promote academic and social success.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and support tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grades K-12
- Assess and address the unique needs of each student to develop appropriate educational plans
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure an inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in team meetings
- Comply with district policies and required credentialing procedures, including fingerprinting and background checks
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education certification in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students preferred, ranging from entry-level to seasoned educators
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet varying student needs
- Willingness to work onsite Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
