DHH Teacher | Coal Center, Pennsylvania

Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing loss
- Strong ability to use a variety of communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), speech, and auditory/oral approaches
- Skilled in collaborating with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and families
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices and technology integration in the classroom
- Proficiency in progress monitoring and data-driven instruction
- Compassionate, flexible, and committed to building an inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in individual and group settings
- Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs in close partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Support classroom accessibility by providing resources and adapting materials
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers to promote best practices for inclusion
- Engage families in the educational process and offer communication support strategies
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field
