Position Details:
Role: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
Location: Columbus, GA
Schedule: Full-Time
School Year: 2026–2027
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet students’ unique communication and learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and related service providers
- Support the use of assistive technology and communication methods (e.g., ASL, auditory training, speechreading)
- Monitor and document student progress, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
- Valid Georgia teaching certification with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
