Key Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee DOE teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) is required
- Ability to pass a district background check, including scheduled fingerprinting
- Previous experience providing direct or consultative services to students with hearing differences (school-based experience preferred)
- Flexibility to support students across multiple schools, as caseloads and assignments may change
- Strong communication skills collaborating with school staff, students, and families
- Comfort working with K-12 populations in mainstream and/or specialized settings
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and/or consultation services to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and methodologies for accessibility
- Support staff development on best practices and assistive technology
- Maintain documentation and report progress in line with district and state guidelines
