Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education – Deaf Education (P–12) OR
- Certified in Special Education General Curriculum (P–12) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting deaf and hard of hearing students with innovative instructional techniques
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation for students with hearing impairments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and families
- Passion for creating an inclusive, accessible, and engaging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students across several school sites
- Create accessible lesson plans that foster academic, social, and emotional growth
- Utilize a variety of communication modes including sign language and assistive technology as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to ensure seamless support for each student’s goals
- Monitor and document student progress, participating in IEP meetings and assessments as required
