DHH Teacher | Dearborn, Michigan

Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH or TOD) students
- Experience working with children or adolescents with hearing differences
- Strong understanding of accessible communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL) and various assistive technologies
- Comfortable integrating technology into instruction; experience with online or remote teaching preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively with students, caregivers, and colleagues
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans to meet each student’s individual needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-based virtual instruction adapted for deaf/hard of hearing students in both group and one-on-one settings
- Assess students’ progress and adjust learning strategies for optimal growth
- Collaborate closely with school teams and families to support student success and advocate for necessary accommodations
- Develop and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide consultation, resources, and training to school staff as needed
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to compliance requirements
