Qualifications:
- Valid and active Louisiana DOE teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- School-based teaching experience with deaf/hard of hearing students preferred
- Up-to-date credentials, able to pass a drug screen and fingerprint background check as required by the district
- Strong collaboration abilities to work across school teams and communicate with families
- Flexibility and adaptability to serve across multiple school sites and support diverse caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to deaf/hard of hearing students, adapting curriculum and instruction to meet varying needs
- Assess student progress, develop and implement IEPs, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and other related service providers to support student success
- Stay current with educational best practices and integrate technology and resources to support learning
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate that promotes equity and belonging
