Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Irving, TX
An opportunity is available for a Teacher specialized in Deaf and Hard of Hearing support to serve students in Pre-K through 6th grade at a school in Mansfield, TX. This is a contract position running from early January through late May, designed for an educator experienced in Texas school environments and licensed in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education. The role supports an itinerant caseload, primarily focusing on students within one campus.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting and completing comprehensive student evaluations.
- Participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings.
- Reading and interpreting audiograms to support student needs.
- Managing a caseload of students from Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade.
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and specialists to develop and implement effective educational plans.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Texas Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching License (D/HH).
- Experience working in a Texas school setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of educational assessments and interventions for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Ability to manage caseload effectively in an itinerant role.
- Excellent communication skills to work with students, families, and school teams.
This position offers flexible part-time to full-time hours (21-35 hours per week) with a minimum commitment of three days up to five days per week, working seven-hour days. The role is fully on-site and requires dedication to supporting students' unique learning needs.
