Teacher of the Deaf in Avondale, AZ

This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work across multiple campuses, engaging with approximately 21 students from developmental preschool through 8th grade. Your expertise will help empower young learners to reach their fullest potential while collaborating with a dedicated team.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience or training in DHH services for children and adolescents
- Familiarity with resource and specialized programs
- Ability to deliver direct services and provide consultative support
- Confidence navigating IEP processes and developing goals related to hearing impairment
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability, as caseload is spread across 9 campuses
- ASL proficiency or experience with alternative communication methods is valued
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide an average of 120 minutes of direct services per month to each student on your caseload
- Deliver DHH-related instruction and support, tailored to student needs from preschool through middle school
- Consult and collaborate with campus staff, families, and related services to ensure comprehensive support
- Contribute to IEP development and assist with those due, focusing on HI-related services and goals
- Participate in resource and specialized program planning
- Maintain up-to-date records, progress monitoring, and compliance with all relevant requirements
