A full-time teaching opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to support students from PreK through 12th grade in a K-12 educational setting. This contract position runs through June 6, 2026, with an immediate start date.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive instruction and support tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students across all grade levels.
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to create accessible learning environments.
- Implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and monitoring student progress.
- Utilizing specialized communication strategies and assistive technologies.
- Participating in team meetings and parent conferences to foster student success.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing or equivalent licensure.
- Proven experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a K-12 setting.
- Strong knowledge of auditory-verbal, sign language, or other communication methodologies.
- Ability to design and deliver differentiated instruction.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Schedule and location:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:40 PM.
- Position is based in Monroe, NY.
