DHH Teacher | Middletown, New York
An immediate opening is available for a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the New Paltz, NY area. This contract role, beginning as soon as possible and extending through the remainder of the school year with potential for continuation, offers a dynamic opportunity to provide specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instructional sessions tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 20-30 sessions per week.
- Travel to multiple school locations (ranging from 2-8) within the area to provide support and direct teaching.
- Collaborate with educational staff, families, and service providers to promote student success and integration.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching Certificate is required.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting is preferred.
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload and travel to various school sites during the workweek.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (37.5 hours weekly).
