Your week will be balanced across several school locations near Poughkeepsie, NY, with most days running from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours). Expect a dynamic caseload, providing roughly 20-30 sessions weekly across a variety of sites, giving you an engaging mix of environments and student needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New York State Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching Certificate (required)
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing across elementary, middle, and high school grades
- Strong skills in tailoring instruction to diverse learning needs and communication styles
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Outstanding communication, organization, and documentation abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned with each student’s IEP and communication preferences
- Travel between 2 to 8 locations as scheduled, ensuring continuity of support
- Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster student success
- Maintain clear records of services, progress, and educational outcomes
- Consult on assistive technology, classroom accommodations, and strategies to optimize access to curriculum
