Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credentials for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) students
- Proven experience working with children with hearing impairments in educational settings
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and appropriate instructional strategies
- Skilled in using assistive technology and various communication methodologies
- Excellent interpersonal, advocacy, and communication skills
- Flexibility to support students across a range of grade levels
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Conduct assessments and collaborate on IEPs to ensure compliance and effectiveness
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments for optimal accessibility
- Provide direct and consultative services to students, teachers, and families
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and ongoing staff development
- Support communication, language development, and self-advocacy skills in students
- Serve as a resource for staff on best practices and assistive technologies related to hearing differences
