Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid teaching credential with Deaf/Hard of Hearing authorization or relevant certification
- Previous experience with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
- Strong knowledge of appropriate instructional strategies and assistive technology
- Proficiency in sign language (ASL or SEE) is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with hearing impairments, aligning with IEP goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to ensure student progress
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet students' individual needs
- Support students in developing self-advocacy and communication skills
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to progress monitoring
- Maintain accurate records and required documentation
