Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Teaching Certification with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement (or eligibility)
- Background working with children or adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities
- Strong collaboration skills to work with classroom teachers, families, and support staff
- Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans
- Enthusiastic commitment to advancing students’ academic and social development
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students’ needs
- Collaborate with educators, interpreters, and related services to ensure access to curriculum
- Conduct student assessments and adjust instructional methods as necessary
- Advocate for student inclusion and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide resources and training for staff and families to support student success
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
