Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Cheney, WA

Desired Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related field
- Prior experience in a school setting or working with school-age children is highly valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to utilize assistive technology and implement a variety of communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instructional services for students with varying hearing abilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt curriculum and provide individualized support to meet student needs
- Serve as a resource for classroom teachers, offering strategies for accessible instruction
- Maintain thorough records of student progress, involvement, and attendance
- Engage families in the educational process, supporting them as partners in student success
