Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification or credential as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or ability to obtain)
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with hearing loss
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices and inclusive instructional techniques
- Strong understanding of ASL and other methods of communication for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Creative, patient, and flexible mindset to adapt lessons to meet varied learning needs
- Excellent collaboration skills for working with student support teams, families, and other educators
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a school-based environment
- Develop educational plans tailored to individual student needs, ensuring alignment with state regulations and best practices
- Support and train classroom teachers and support staff in effective strategies and technology for inclusive learning
- Maintain clear and positive communication with parents and multidisciplinary teams
- Document student progress, and participate in IEP meetings and related case management
- Advocate for an accessible, welcoming, and productive classroom environment
