Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting is highly valued
- Knowledge of various communication modalities, including American Sign Language (ASL) and/or spoken language approaches
- Strong advocacy skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to DHH students’ unique strengths and challenges
- Provide both direct and consultative services to students, teachers, and families
- Adapt curriculum and teaching materials to support accessibility and student engagement
- Monitor student progress, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, speech therapists, interpreters, and families to promote inclusion and academic growth
