DHH Teacher | Cheney, Washington

Key Qualifications:
- Current or eligible certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Proven experience working with children or adolescents with hearing impairments in educational settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Familiarity with assistive technology and accessible classroom materials
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to students with varying degrees of hearing loss
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum as needed
- Monitor and assess student progress, documenting and communicating outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise on hearing access and accommodations
- Offer advocacy and support for students, equipping them with self-advocacy and communication strategies
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed on best practices
