Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Degree in Deaf Education or a related field
- Experience working with school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Knowledge of various communication modalities, including ASL, oral, cued speech, or total communication
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, working effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement IEPs in cooperation with other education professionals
- Provide consultative support and guidance to classroom teachers and staff
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress toward educational goals
- Advocate for accessible learning environments and support inclusion across school settings
- Partner with families to support student development and learning
- Participate in relevant meetings, professional development, and training sessions
