DHH Teacher | Spokane, Washington

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification in Washington State
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology, communication modalities such as ASL, and educational adaptations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding of IEP development and adherence to legal and educational guidelines
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learners and implement best practices for accessibility
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on students’ unique communication needs
- Provide direct and consultative services, both in inclusive classrooms and specialized settings
- Collaborate with other teachers, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and families to support student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Advocate for accessible learning and participate in IEP meetings
- Contribute to a positive, supportive school culture that celebrates student achievements
