Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Washington State teaching certification with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with hearing loss in school settings preferred
- Strong understanding of language development, educational technology, and deaf culture
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modes used by students
- Ability to adapt curriculum to meet individual needs and IEP goals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, teachers, and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct and consultative support to classroom teachers, staff, and families on accommodations and modifications
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment promoting language, literacy, and self-advocacy
- Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in regular IEP meetings
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and technology in Deaf Education
