Teacher of the Deaf in Seattle, WA

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with D/HH students in a school or similar educational setting
- Knowledge of current best practices in deaf education, assistive technology, and curriculum adaptations
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Ability to tailor instruction to a variety of learning styles and needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students with hearing loss from diverse backgrounds
- Develop and implement IEPs, assess student progress, and adjust strategies as needed
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
- Facilitate communication access in the classroom using appropriate technology and accommodations
- Provide guidance and support to staff and families regarding effective strategies and resources
- Attend meetings, participate in professional development, and maintain required documentation
