Qualifications:
- Valid state certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or closely related field
- Knowledge of auditory/oral and/or total communication methodologies
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility to work across various grade levels and learning settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and classroom accessibility
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress monitoring
- Advocate for assistive technology and accommodations to ensure student success
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional well-being
