Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credential for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification
- Experience providing instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to assess students’ needs and adapt lessons accordingly
- Familiarity with various amplification devices, assistive technology, and educational modifications
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Previous school-based experience preferred but not required
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students with hearing loss as outlined in IEPs
- Develop and adapt individualized instructional materials
- Provide support and guidance for general education staff regarding accommodations and modifications
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, educational audiologists, and other specialists
- Facilitate communication between students, families, and educational teams
- Contribute to ongoing assessment, progress monitoring, and IEP meetings
