Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Hold an Education Specialist Instruction credential (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
- Demonstrated proficiency in instructional and conversational signing
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- A passion for helping all students reach their highest potential
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in grades 6-8
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are effectively implemented
- Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages participation, independence, and self-advocacy
- Communicate regularly with families to discuss progress and offer strategies for continued success
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Model and promote a positive and respectful attitude toward Deaf culture and American Sign Language
This full-time contract assignment covers 37 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. All instruction is provided onsite, making this a fantastic opportunity for hands-on engagement and direct impact.
