Key Qualifications:
- State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs tailored to students with hearing loss
- Comfortable utilizing assistive listening devices and accessible technology
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), Signed English, or other relevant methodologies
- Strong collaboration skills for working with general education staff, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Essential Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualized or small-group lessons for students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Assess students’ progress and adjust strategies to meet their unique needs and learning styles
- Advocate for student access and inclusion across academic and social settings
- Support classroom teachers with strategies and adaptations to enhance communication and understanding
- Participate in IEP meetings, facilitate communication between school staff and families, and ensure compliance with all relevant educational standards
