Teacher of the Deaf in New Paltz, NY
A full-time, school-based opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students, serving a K–12 caseload in New Paltz, NY. This contract role offers the chance to support and educate students in a dynamic school environment while utilizing your expertise in hearing disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to K–12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to promote student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to state and school policies
Qualifications:
- Active New York State Teaching Certification
- Certification or credentials specific to Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred but not required
- Must have State Clearances
